WarmShowers: Building Community Engagement Through a Free Accommodation Network for Hunters and Bike Enthusiasts

WarmShowers is a community network of hunters, bike enthusiasts and travelers who help each other by providing free accommodation for fellow members when they are on their bike trips.

WarmShowers was founded in 1993 by Terry Zmrhal, a cyclist who wanted to create a platform where cyclists could help each other and share their experiences on bicycle journeys.

WarmShowers members can register for free on their website and create their profile with their personal information, bike experience and availability to provide accommodation. When a member is on a bike trip, they can look for hosts in their destination and contact them to arrange a place to stay.

WarmShowers main goal is to create bonds and solidarity among cycling enthusiasts around the world. Apart from that, WarmShowers also provides an opportunity to share experiences, travel tips, and suggestions on good bike routes.
