Musical Intelligence

        Related to musical intelligence, Katzowitz (2002) states that musical intelligence, in which a person is very sensitive to sound and has the ability to create and communicate through rhythmic patterns. According to Gardner (2003) states that musical intelligence includes a person's ability to be sensitive to non-verbal sounds around him, including in terms of tone and rhythm. People who have musical intelligence also find it easier to remember things and express their ideas when associated with music. People who have musical intelligence can express their thoughts in the form of music. They can easily learn something when associated with music or songs. Meanwhile, according to Nguyen and Luu (2011), stated that musical intelligence is the ability to convey sentiments and feelings through music. It also involves the ability to recognize and use pitch, rhythm, and melody.
        Musical intelligence can be trained in music teaching and music teaching has a positive impact on other intelligences. According to Rother (2000) states that music should be taught in schools because of its own value, not just because of its positive effect on mathematics, science, and reasoning. Meanwhile, according to a study using information from the National Center for Education Statistics, Morrison (1994) reported that at a sample size of 13,327 high school students who participated in music reported higher scores in English, mathematics, history, and science compared to those who did not. participate in music.
        From the explanation above, it shows that teaching music besides having its own value also has an effect on improving students' mathematical abilities. Meanwhile, musical intelligence is the ability to think of someone to communicate (easily remember something, express ideas, express thoughts, learn something, convey sentiments and feelings) or create something easily when associated with music or songs, or be sensitive to nonverbal sounds ( tone, rhythm, and melody) and can use them.
